Logalot Notification Manager

Postby ham » Fri Jul 23, 2010 2:08 am

Hello!

we decided to install Logalot log server . In obtaining important massage log for us, we want to be notified about them via email.

I created a policy and Notification Profile. In policy has added Notification. But, it is not working ...

In the Notification Queue, I see that the notification has the status of Waiting. This continues until I manually restart service plixer_notifyd in WINDOWS notification who had the status of Waiting immediately begin to come by the email. But the new alert again receive the status of Waiting, although service in plixer_notifyd WINDOWS stay in the status Started

Explain why so, how can I fix it!
We very need to be notified of critical logs on Email
Thanks!

Hello,

What version of Logalot are you using? The latest released version - Plixer Tools? Or Logalot v5 (runs under SOEv3)

Hello,

We are using latest released version - Plixer Tools.

Hello,

We have some patches for the Plixer Tools version of Logalot.

Stop the plixer_mysql service on your Logalot server and rename the following files:

[homedir]\cgi-bin\denika.exe to denika_old.exe
[homedir]\cgi-bin\eventlogd.exe to eventlogd_old.exe
[homedir]\cgi-bin\logalot.exe to logalot_old.exe
[homedir]\cgi-bin\notify.cgi to notify_old.cgi
[homedir]\cgi-bin\notifyd.exe to notifyd_old.exe

Then download these files from ftp.plixer.com and place them in [homedir]\cgi-bin\

ftp.plixer.com

User: public
Password: public

denika.exe
eventlogd.exe
logalot.exe
notify.cgi
notifyd.exe

Then restart plixer_mysql and dependent services.

Please replace the notify.cgi rename and download with logalot-util.exe

Rename:
[homedir]\cgi-bin\logalot-util.exe to logalot-util_old.exe

download logalot-util.exe from ftp.plixer.com public/public

Hi,

They just moved these patches. They are in the PlixerTools_release directory at ftp.plixer.com

And notify.cgi is there also, so you can rename and replace notify.cgi also.

We recently installed v8 and are experiencing the same issue. The ftp credentials public/public are not working. Would you please let me know if the updates are still available or what alternative there may be to address these same symptoms.

Thank you.

We've updated our ftp server.

I sent you the credentials to access those files via a private message.

Hello sharabi,

Are you running PlixerTools v8 or a previous version of Logalot and Denika?

Thanks,

Hello ham,

We've released PlixerTools v8.0.1 RC1, so I would recommend upgrading your current install with this release, which includes the fixes you're looking for in the FTP, and then install it on your new server and migrate the data.

PlixerTools v8.0.1 RC1 supports 64-bit MySQL, so I would recommend a 64-bit operating system.

I'll email you the download link and migration instructions.

Thanks,
Paul
