juliagreen, Scrutinizer Netflow analyzer will allow you to do this.

You can get this from here:
http://www.plixer.com/support/download_request.php

If your switch, firewall or router supports netflow, You can use Scrutinizer to identify the top users and protocols on your network.
The free version will give you all the functionality you are asking for.

v9.0 Alarm Flowalyzer Poller: Missed Polls

Hello,

This poller runs as part of flowalyzer. You can configure devices either by adding objects to a map, or opening flowalyzer itself from the START button. In flowalyzer there is a poller tab where you can add/remove devices.

We by default configure all of your flow sending devices and poll them.

As far as help docs, if you hit the ? icon you can find some overall information. But it does not go into set-up.

Palo Alto Firewalls

Hi Andrew,

We have a Palo Alto firewall replay going to our Scrutinizer server's that we use to test with, so yes we do have successful implementations out there.

My first question would be, are the flows from the firewall making it to the Scrutinizer server? If you take a packet capture on the Scrutinizer server do you see any NetFlow data coming from the firewall?

If you don't see any traffic, either the firewall is not configured properly or something on the network is preventing the flows from getting to the server.

If you do see traffic, on your Scrutinizer status page, search for the same IP address that you did in wireshark and you should see the interfaces show up. If the interfaces don't show up, let us know and we can continue to investigate.

Scrutinizer v.8.x to v.9.x Upgrade Instructions

The Scrutinizer v8.x to v9.x upgrade has been designed to be an over the top upgrade so users can run the latest installer on the server and be upgraded to the latest release.

Before upgrading a backup is recommended, but not required.
The files and folders to be backed up are in the following instructions.

Instructions for upgrading Scrutinizer on the same server:
1) Download the latest installer: "http://files.plixer.com/Scrutinizer-windows-installer.exe"
2) Stop the plixer_mysql and dependent services
3) Copy the "\scrutinizer\mysql\data\scrut_*" folders to a backup folder
4) Copy the "\scrutinizer\mysql\data\plixer" folder to a backup folder
5) Start the plixer_mysql service
6) Run Scrutinizer-windows-installer.exe

It should work if you also have a backup of Scrutinizer/mysql/data/plixer.

Are you restoring the backup for viewing only or it is being restored in a production environment?

Alarms/Reports baded on country code

Hello,

You can open any report (let's say a Conversation WKP) and filter that report on a particular country. You can then save that report, and add an Inbound threshold to it. The Inbound threshold allows you to trigger alert based on traffic volume either on total traffic for a 5 minute period, or by row/conversation.

Thanks for the reply, I guess i must have a newer version. I had to click interface -> templates -> source reports ->hosts to get valid data. I'm running the free version so it doesn't save any reports.
