Moving Scrutinizer and Denika to new Windows 7 VM's

Instructions for Scrutinizer:

1. Install latest release of Scrutinizer v7 on new server.
2. Stop plixer_mysql and dependent services on both servers.
3. Move the following directories from old server to new server:
[homedir] \Scrutinizer\files\rrds
[homedir] \Scrutinizer\mysql\data\plixer
[homedir] \Scrutinizer\mysql\data\scrut_*
4. Start plixer_mysql and dependent services on both servers
5. Change IP Address on new server and enter license key from old server.

Instructions for Denika
-Denika has a new version available in "Plixer Tools". I am going to give you instructions for moving just the Denika data over. Any other configuration (license key, ldap settings, user acocunts, etc...) should be manually re-entered.

1. Install latest release of Plixer Tools
2. Stop plixer_mysql service and dependent services on new server
3. Stop mysql service and dependent services on your old server
4. Move the following directories from \SOE\ on the old server to \PlixerTools\...

Hello ndavuluri-

1) 1d tables contain rolled up data in one day intervals. I am not sure I can answer what is OK for you. If you are looking for 1 day intervals that is the table you should be using.

2)
a) Scrutinizer provides 21 reports (will be 22 in 7.6) which can be displayed as bits,bytes,packets, or percent. Those reports all use differing queries to provide the correct data. The exact queries for all of our reports are proprietary and will not be available on our forum; I hope you understand that. octetDeltaCount is the number of bytes for a row in the table.

b) Each exporter has its own database, so the database name will contain the IP of the exporter.

If you require consulting help on how to integrate with our database, please contact sales for a quote on professional services. We have a very knowledgeable team of field engineers.

Exporting to CSV

* the hardware of your scrutinizer server and the desktop comptuer downloading the CSV
Hardware on the servers exceeds the recommended specs provided by Plixer.
* your network connection used to download the CSV
Local Lan, at least 100mbps.
* how busy the Scrutinizer server is
Some what busy, but willing to lessen the load to run the report on this particular interface.
* what report type you are looking at
Source and destination IP address and ports, passing through an interface,
* Are you looking at 'Auto' interval or have you forced it to something more granular like 1 minute or 5 minute intervals
Right just looking at auto.

Device Names shown on google maps

or me just the hostname would be fine (as I only have a single DNS domain that all my devices are in), but a choice between just hostname and FQDN would be ideal.

The way it is done in flash maps looks cool, but a more flexible way would be if you could place the location of the name anywhere (sort of like in Visio, where the text block is anchored to the item).
