Hi,

An important part of a netflow collector is its ability to
be configured to send scheduled reports at predefined dates. You can then
be left to concentrate on other areas and then take action once a report
has been received, or a fault occurs.

Currently the automatic
reporting is lacking. When you configure a scheduled report you get an
email with the raw data. Sure the graph looks all pretty, but the text
underneath looks poor with no colouration. If you want more than one report
you get sent multiple emails.

Are there any plans to improve the
way in which scheduled reports operate ? Can you not send the output to a
well formatted quality PDF which then gets emailed to recipients ? The PDFs
could then be printed out and would look better than the raw text in the
email. This way you could send multiple reports in one nice concise email.
Statistics : Posted by chrisbeswick • on Fri Sep 03, 2010 2:37 am

 Hi mach,

Here are the instructions to migrate your data to a

released version.
2.	Install latest released version of Scrutinizer on
new server.
3.	Stop plixer_mysql and dependent services on both
servers.
4.	Make a backup copy of the[homedir]
\Scrutinizer\mysql\data\ directory on the new server.
5.	Move the
following directories from the old server to the newserver:
a.	[homedir]\Scrutinizer\files\rrds<br

\Scrutinizer\mysql\data\scrut_*
6.	Start plixer_mysql and dependent
services on both servers.

*** These instructions assume that
the same ip address will be assigned to the new server as the old server.
If the new server will have a different ip address, a new license key will
need to be issued and entered in Scrutinizer, and the flow exporting

Thanks. Sorry for the late response. I will call to see about upgrading to
a newer Logalot.

I also have a question about
notifications/email alerts. I have configured the Logalot to send email
alerts but I noticed that the subject line includes the IP address of the
system. Of course that is great information to know but we have a security
policy that states 'no IP addresses will be sent in email'. Is there a way
around this. Can this be changed to show the hostname instead? Any help is
greatly appreciated.
Statistics : Posted by ldobbins • on Fri Aug 20, 2010 11:48 am

the Manage Devices screen, check the checkbox to the left of inactive
device, then click Delete at the top of the listing.

Then if the
new exporter is exporting flows to the Scrutinizer server, in Manage
Devices, click on Check Again, and see if the new exporter displays in the
exporters list. It may take a few minutes before the new exporter shows in

class="quotecontent">Hi,

What port are you exporting the flows
from the new exporter to? Is it listed as a listening port in Scrutinizer?
The list of listening ports is in Admin->Settings->System Preferences,
about halfway down, Listener Port. If the port you are exporting flows to
from this exporter is not in that list, then add it to the list, click
Save, then restart the plixer_collector service.

If that is not
the case, then if you have a total of 25 exporters, including active and
inactive, can you delete one of the inactive exporters and see if then the
new exporter will display?

To delete an inactive exporter, in
the Manage Devices screen, check the checkbox to the left of inactive
device, then click Delete at the top of the listing.

Then if the
