Unable to get CPU polling.
Hi Guys:
When I tried to add a new device to my denika, the CPU data is always not polling.

Re: Unable to get CPU polling.
Hello,
When you discover the device, at the bottom of the screen there is the option:
"STOP: Click Here if you do not see the report you wish to discover. "
Can you click on "Click Here" which will take you to the Device template for that device, then select the CPU report template(s) that you want to create for this device, ie. "CPU Utilization using Perfmon Agent". Then click Save at the bottom of that screen, and go back to discover that device again.

Hi:
I had tested your steps but hit with the below error.
Updated TEST123: Cache faults using Perfmon Agent
+ testing CPU Utilization using Perfmon Agent ... no response!
Thanks.

Re: Unable to get CPU polling.
Can you tell us what device you are trying to discover? There's a possibility that the generic MiB II OID for CPU utilization just doesn't work with this device.

Re: Unable to get CPU polling.
You might want to try using a MIB browser of some kind and see what values you get when you do a get for that OID. Walking the device might also help in finding what OID you could use.
I would recommend GetIF, since it's easy to use and free.
It's possible that the CPU utilization could be monitored using a different OID than the standard MiB II.

Hi,
I had used GetIf and find out that i got a nullOID.
Do you know how to solve it?
Thank You.

Re: Unable to get CPU polling.
With Most versions of Windows Server now you should be using MIBII template for CPU. Looking at your discovery log, you didn't have the MIBII CPU template turned on for discovery. If you enable that and rediscover, you should get a report for each CPU.
If you still don't get CPU from MIBII, there is an agent extention that can be obtained for free from WTCS.org that can give you CPU via the WTCS CPU template. This is almost never needed though.
Hope this helps,
Mikek

Hi,
I had enable the CPU from MIBII template. But still unable to get the data.
Can advice how to add in the agent extension which you had advice?
Thank You.

Re: Unable to get CPU polling.
Go to http://www.snmp-informant.com/ and click on "Download" on the left-hand side.
Select SNMP Informant-STD 1.6v (Current production release)
And click Download Now.
Once the download completes, install on your HP DL380.
Next you will need to make sure you have Williams Technology Consulting Services as an alternate vendor in the Denika device template that the server is using
Go to Denika -> Admin Tools, click on Templates and click on the "Device" button to find the device template. Enter the IP and select the credential to use.
Once you get to the "Edit Device Template" screen, select "Williams Technology Consulting Services (1.3.6.1.4.1.9600)" under the Alternate Vendor and save.
Once the template is loaded, select all of the WTCS reports to use in discovery. Save once again and rediscover the device.

Hi, thanks for your details steps.
But still unable to get, could it be a missing mib file on the local server?
