Who: The end system causing the traffic
What: The application/protocol that is being used
When: The time frame it has been occurring for
Where: The network connection that is affected

Nexus 7009 Speed Accuracy

Post by dallasbr » Wed Nov 25, 2015 11:53 am

Hello,

I am trying to setup Scrutinizer with a Nexus 7009 with f2e cards. I can see the flows and devices in Scrutinizer but the Inbound speed is no where near accurate. I am using the following configuration on the Nexus.

flow exporter e1
description Scrutinizer
destination X.X.X.X
source loopback 120
transport udp 9995
version 9

flow monitor m1
record netflow-original
exporter e1

sampler netflow-sampler
mode 1 out-of 1
exit

int vlan XX
ip flow monitor m1 input sampler netflow-sampler

I can see the flow data, as in source and destination IP's but the throughput is just all wrong. Anyone seen this before?

Hello Dallasbr

Take a look at the blog I linked to below, I think you'll find it very helpful in getting your 7009 setup. You might try searching through the blogs for more articles on the Nexus 7000 series as well.

Thanks for the reply. I called plixer support directly and was told it is because of the 1 out of 100 sampling and to get more accurate data on reports you have to apply a Sample Multiplier filter of 100.
