Thanks Joanne, I deleted the pollFile_1.* files in soe\mrtg\bin and then ran soe\cgi-bin\poller.exe. Two files were created: pollfile_1.cfg and pollfile_1.cfg_1

Poll files missing, rebuilding now...
Poll files were last rebuilt: Wed Dec 31 16:00:00 1969.
Configuration has changed, rebuilding poll files...
Mode: all
DONE!
initiating background poller for pollFile_1.cfg ...
DONE!

^^That was one of the reports that I generated today that was working for a while. I can still see live graphs with this one but it doesn't seem to be updating the historical graphs any more :(

Maybe I should describe what I mean when I say that I'm not getting any graphs. The Denika report home page lists all the reports (now 0 are disabled :) ) - When I click on a report it loads the page and there is a blank frame where the individual reports would be normally but all that is there are the blue tool icons that have the wrench, TV and magnifying glass symbols on them followed by the green up arrows. It looks like there is a set of these for everyone of my missing graphs. There is also the email report box at the bottom.

I guess we are getting closer... Thanks for all of your help!
Tom

Hi Tom,

Can you post the last few lines of the soe\apache2\logs\error.log (or most current error_log.xxxxxx)?

Sounds like possibly there are errors in the report templates. Do all of your reports display this way - just showing those icons and no graphs?

Yes Joanne, all the original reports look like that. Here are the last few lines of errorlog.2009-04-28-20_06_18 (172.22.2.19 is my workstation):

Almost all of the errors in the log look like this^ - There was one broken link like error that I saw that was different:

[Tue Apr 28 14:50:20 2009] [error] [client 172.22.3.19] File does not exist: D:/SOE/html/images/rt-R3704.png, referer: http://somix/cgi-bin/denika.exe?categor ... domain.com: Port Utilization by port instance on ATM1/0-aal5 layer (8)&outside=1&notabs=1

I need to go home for the day. Let me know if you want more and thank you!

Hi Tom,

Could not parse color does mean that there is a problem with the report template(s).

Can you call me at 207-324-8805 x4, Technical Support, 8am-5pm EDT, and I can help you resolve this?

Working with Tom on this issue, we found that all of his original Denika reports had again become disabled, so I clicked on the Disabled Reports link on the main reports page in Denika.

That took me to the Admin Tools->Reports page, displaying all the disabled reports. From there I saw that none of the reports had any report name info displaying. This indicates that those reports do not have a valid credential assigned to them.

Went to Admin Tools->Credentials, where we saw that the only reports with a valid credential assigned were the 6 new reports he just created this week. The default credential id is 3 in his case, so we went to the server, and using a mysql gui, queried the perfrpt.rptparameters database table and found that all but those 6 reports had a credential_id = 0. Which means no community string assigned.

I ran the following query to update those reports:

update perfrpt.rptparameters set credential_id = '3' where credential_id = '0';

In Tom's case, this did the trick, as he had just that one valid credential. In other cases, you may need to assign other credential ids to specific reports/devices, as needed.

After we updated the database table to use the correct credential, I ran poller.exe from command prompt in soe\cgi-bin, and this time it created 3 pollFile_x.cfg files, indicating that it was polling all 2500+- reports.

The final test is after 15-20 minutes if his reports are again displaying data.
