Re: IPv6 Subnet Filter

Hi Mark-

Thank you for your time looking at this with me today. I am glad to hear the ipV6 range filters are working as expected. We will have the ipv6 subnet filter fix in the Scrutinizer 10 release candidate next week.

Thank you for the additional details, Mark. We will be sure to look at ranges too. It is good to see some use of ipV6.

Re: IPv6 Subnet Filter

Hi Mark- We have verified that there is a bug with v6 subnet filters. Bug 9379 has been opened and this will be fixed for the v10 release. I will have someone in support contact you with the beta when we have the fix incorporated. In the mean time are you able to accomplish what you need with an IP ...

Re: IPv6 Subnet Filter

Hi Mark- Have you tried without the :: at the end? Our ipV6 subnet tests all pass, so we probably just have to nail down how we are doing things differently. I have opened a ticket to verify ipV6 subnet filters in Scrutinizer version 10. We are in beta now and I want to make sure there are no issue....

Re: LDAP WMI error

Hello Smartd- There is not a specific LDAP debug option for the web interface. You might see something in the scrutinizer\apache\logs\error.log file. There is a command line option in scrut_util.exe (in the scrutinizer\bin\ folder) that should help: -ldap [USERNAME] [PASSWORD] Test an LDAP connectio...

Re: LDAP WMI error

Hello Smartd- The LDAP setup wizard uses WMI to get the full Authorize DN (ADSIPath). LDAP is used to authenticate, but WMI is required for the setup. If you don't have a user with WMI permissions, you can manually enter the LDAP information in the web interface under: Admin -> Settings -> LDAP Serv...

Re: Operating System to run Scrutinizer

I recommend 2008 64 bit for performance. Under heavy load, access to 4+ gig of RAM that the 64 bit OS allows the DB is great.

We occasionally see issues with XP/2003, so I would stick to 2008 if you have the option.

I hope this helps,

Re: Database Issue

Thanks for the update, Shaheen- It sounds like something on that server is using much more RAM then we would normally see. Depending on what your time frame is for the 64 bit machine, I am sure we could get you a my.ini file that would resolve this issue. Did you happen to look at the task manager w...

Re: Database Issue

Hello Shaheen- Based on the logs you attached it looks like our default memory settings are a little too high. The settings in the my.ini file are the default for all connections, but we also set our own settings for some individual DB connections. If you look in your windows directory you will find...

Re: V8 Retro Colors

I agree that those greens are closer together than they could be. We will take a look at modifying the retro skins or adding a new skin to address this.

Re: Can't install the scrutinizer

Hello Ark- Something is preventing the MySQL service from starting. Trying to run from a command prompt may tell us why. Please open a command prompt and navigate to the \scrutinizer\mysql\bin directory, and run the following command: mysqld. What is the output? Based on your previous posts it still...

Re: Scrutinizer Scheduled Reports

Hi Ronnie- I am surprised to see all the file handle errors. What version of Scrutinizer are you running? You can click on the diamond in the upper right hand corner to see. This could a missing directory. Do you have a \scrutinizer\tmp\email\ directory? Are your Flow Analytics algorithms running wi...

Hi BWB8771- I know support contacted you to look into this, but I want to make sure I put some information on the forums for others who might run into this. Alarms can be configured to go out as syslogs, so message would be visible through the Alarms TAB and on your syslog collector. We do not expli...

Re: Scrutinizer Scheduled Reports

Hello PB- The plixer_watcher service is responsible for sending emailed reports, so make sure that service is running. Trouble-shooting after that gets a little more complicated, but I will try to outline the steps. If you would like help looking at this we offer free pre-sales support for evaluator...
