Scrutinizer is an enterprise/business class NetFlow and sFlow analysis tool. Scrutinizer provides historical trends of the company's critical network interfaces as well as the details on:

Who: The end system causing the traffic
What: The application/protocol that is being used
When: The time frame it has been occurring for

Move Scrutinizer data drive ?

Post by filobeddo » Tue Jan 21, 2014 6:39 am

Hi. I need to move my Scrutinizer data to another drive.
At current I have a folder on its own drive (D:) called 'ScrutinizerData'.

Am I correct to say I can just stop all Plixer services, MySQL in particular and just modify the following file?
(Assuming I copy my date to the new location once services are stopped).

Program Files (x86)\Scrutinizer\mysql\my.ini

Only two lines reference D:

If I just edit these to the new drive and re-start services will this work OK ?

Alternately I was thinking start in safe-mode with no services runing, copy the data and then un-assign the current drive then assign the new drive the old drives letter (D:).
Boot up normally, job done ?

Thanks for any advice.

Hello Filobeddo -

That looks correct - Once the services are stopped you can copy the database to the new directory and change the my.ini paths you can restart the services (no need to boot into safe mode) . If you have any problems feel free to let me know.
